NIXON- THE UNIT

Yup. Nixon has done it again. Love their watches and this one is no different. Some get a little out there but most stick to their simplistic design and classic feel like "The Unit" here. Nixon, although simple in design always have a little flair to 'em and I dig that in a watch. Gotta come with a little flavor on your timepeice. Possible birthday gift to myself with this one here, not to mention would look illlll with a Steelers jersey this weekend...

New gallery that started this weekend at Crewest in LA. Looks dope. Lots of potential here for this to be amazing actually. Missed the sharpie exhibit they had here in December and am kicking myself. Gonna be at the Downtown Art Walk this Thursday. Check it out, I'll see you there.

Boiiiiiiiiing

Fresh from the east coast and still with winter on my mind i stumble across some suuuuper dope Nike ACGs. Sometimes Nike's ACG's can get a little funky but these are right on point. The sneaker/boot hybrid works perfectly here and the color scheme is crispy. Wish I had a use for these out west..might have to ask Santa for a late present...oh wait, my birthday is coming up...

ART

I thought this was a photograph, or at least a heavily photoshopped photo but this in fact was painted(!). Just one of the pieces in the current exhibit "The New Realism" at Thinkspace Art Gallery on Washington Blvd. in Culver City (I used to live on Washington Blvd..damn you Jerry for taking so much of our security deposit..bastard) Anyways, this exhibit looks unreal. Also since we're in art mode right now, another gallery has an exhibit completely devoted to the truly wonderful, Sharpie. This appeals to my doodling nature where notes from class had very little notes on them by the end of it. Really hoping to get to this exhibit on Saturday, I bet the stuff done with a Sharpie is amazing. Again, check it out if you have the chance.

DOPE

Another late night at work has me browsing. Came across these. I'm not the biggest adidas fan (have a pair that I ball in but thats its) but these Forums just smacked me across the face and woke me up. Super ill color scheme with leather and snake skin. No denying the freshness of these. Part of their 2011 collection. Might have to be on the look-out for these when they drop next spring.

However..me being at work, some sites are blocked(like this one for some reason) and I can't check out the list. Sneakers are something not everyone has as much love for as true kicks aficionados but sometimes even sneakers cross the boundries into pop culture and cannot be ignored. Bundle Up

Makes me miss winter and cold weather gear. There's something about the feel of a good heavy jacket or hoodie. Everyone bugs out here in LA when it's in the 50's...oh well. Here's some crazy collaboration between Carhartt and the Japanese clothing company Mastermind. Pretty dope.
